Ivan, you and I have crossed swords in the past. Honest question.....Do you honestly believe that if Bin Laden and his lackeys are eliminated, that Islamic inspired terrorism will cease to exist?

Absolutely not. However if we can make bin Laden's gruesome enough (and I emphasise the word gruesome) perhaps it will make the bastards think twice before hitting either America or Britain.

This is a long, sustained war against Bin Laden, the nations that helped him and terror in general - make no mistake - this war is about making the terrorists pay such a price that others in the future will be reluctant to try it.

As I see it, the best option is to punch bin Ladin's ticket quietly, do not pubicize the event.....he just went away. Making a big deal over it will invite responses from his lackelys.

Why not just make this guy go away, in a mysterious manner. Make him cease to exist, with no chance to become a martytr? He simply ceases to exist

Everytime this question comes up, I find it helpful to ask what will happen if we don't take out OBL. We know eachsucceeding attack will become more gruesome and henious. We know the terrorists will be emboldened further because they are not capable of feeling compassion or shame. We know that having them strike outin haste and anger carries less risk than letting them plot their own course and timing. Most of all, we know it is more blessed to give than to receive.
