It would be great timing. Our attention and our military is diverted and our economy is already substantialy weakened. If I were a chinese general I would probably be recommending it myself. Even if they lost, which is not a forgone conclusion, the economic blow to the US alone would be devastating.

I get your point but think on this - "and our economy is already substantialy weakened" means what???

Even "weakened" our economy is like russia and china combined in terms of real output.

China attacking taiwan would be a BIG psych and econ stimulus - would not make us weaker.

If they do attack it would be the BIGGEST mistake they ever made.
