Where'd you find a quart of scotch for a $1.49?!~~~~

Actually, it costs $2.50. I make it myself with an old barrel I found, and age it about two days.

Then I sell it to myself at a loss, and declare it as a deduction On My Net Profit/Loss Statement.

Welcome ~~~~ all you so welcome newcomers!!!!!

It's a clear, crisp Autumn evening here in the mid-Atlantic. There's a brilliant thumbnail moon ... as my dear, departed Mom used to call it ... leaves are falling ... and someone in the neighborhood has set some logs to blaze in their fireplace and I am enjoying the longingly-take-me-back-to-when-it-was-safe- aroma ... while all about kiddos are doing homework and the pups are wondering ...is that ALL there is?! .... lasting things ... lasting things ... and the sky is filled with our valiant military ... after keepin' us safe ...

Uncommon valor ... will be expected of us all ... in big ways and small ... you are visiting a thread hosted by a woman that knows quite a bit about this ... but for the lots of us?!
'Tis hard ... for we have not been called too often to give our best ... even when no one was looking. At the risk of boring y'alls .. listen to this ... inspiration from the past in the form of a snippet from a Medal of Honor citation to U.S. Army Sergeant John Meagher ~~~ earned in Okinawa on June 19, 1945:

"In the heat of the fight, he mounted an assault tank and with bullets splattering about him, designated targets to the gunner. Seeing an enemy soldier carrying an explosive charge dash for the tank treads, he shouted five orders to the gunner, leaped from the tank, and bayoneted the charging soldier.

Knocked unconscious and his rifle destroyed, he regained consciousness, secured a machine gun from the tank, and began a one-man assault on the enemy. Firing from the hip, moving through vicious crossfire that ripped through his clothing, he charged the nearest pillbox, killing six.

Going on amid the hail of bullets and grenades, he dashed for a second enemy gun, running out of ammunition just as he reached the position.

He grasped his empty gun by the barrel and in a violent onslaught killed the crew."

A common man ... who willingly rode a miracle ... never knowing where it would take him ... ... but bent on protecting FREEDOM .... all the same.

God BLESS America!!!!!!!
