Monday, 10/15/01 is Lailat Al-Miraj aka as Muhammad's ascent to Heaven. Is Bush waiting for that time to bomb? Just a thought.

what does an ascent to heaven have to do with a descent into hell, where they shall be subjected to the eternal torments of iblis? i only hope we think to send a collection of iraqnids along with them.

I would not be surprised to see airstrikes this weekend.

Of course he is. We must be sensitive warriors, loved by all. That's why we're ganging up on that big bully Israel -- makes us loved for a minute or two.

If he chooses 10/15, it will be for the new moon, not Mohammed.

Tony Snow made an interesting point on Rush's show that it is a full moon now and thus any sort of action would not begin until the cycle was done. His reasoning was that noone can touch our night vision equipment and thus we'll wait until we have maximum advantage, ie - when the deserts of Afghanistan are as dark as Osama's heart.

From the album Sail Away, Reprise Records (1972).
Political Science
By RANDY NEWMAN No one likes us -- I don't know why We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try But all around even our old friends put us down Let's drop the big one and see what happens We gave them money -- But are they grateful? No, they're spiteful and they're hateful They don't respect us -- so let's surprise them We'll drop the big one and pulverize them Asia's crowded and Europe's too old Africa is far too hot And Canada's too cold And South America stole our name Let's drop the big one There'll be no one left to blame us We'll save Australia Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo We'll build an All American amusement park there They got surfin too Boom goes London and boom Paree More room for you and more room for me And every city the whole world round Will just be another American town Oh how peaceful it will be We'll set everybody free You'll wear a Japanese kimono And there'll be Italian shoes for me They all hate us anyhow So let's drop the big one now Let's drop the big one now

Full moon in Afghanistan tonight. Not a good time for our special ops people to start an attack.

"Terrorist's, get ready for those 70 virgins with non removable bikini chastity belts." LOL...I thought it was 40!! I'm gettin' so old I don't even know what I'd do with 70 virgins if I had them...do they all nag ya and tell ya to take out the garbage and to quit FReepin' so much? After ya de-virginized 'em, it don't sound like all that much fun. Nope, not at all.

10/15 is a good date for other reasons. The new moon is officialy on the 16th. However, the 15th will be dark enough for our initial sorties.

But a full moon wouldn't preclude missile strikes, would it?

"Full moon in Afghanistan tonight. Not a good time for our special ops people to start an attack." So many folks have been saying that lately...call me a Contrarian, but when that many people agree on something, it's gotta be Wrong!!

Good Randy Newman. Then there's always the Kingston Trio song that ended:
There's rioting in Africa;
There's strife in Iran.
What Nature doesn't do to us
Will be done by our fellow man.
To: Mudboy Slim
If memory serves, every US military operation since the start of the Reagan Administration has been launched on the new moon. "Dark for dark business" to quote Tolkien.

Bomb what? There are very few Bombing targets left in that region. Forget the bombing.
I want troops with flame throwers going cave by cave.

We're fighting a force the size of a High School glee club. We have to wait until its pitch black to do that?
