Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater...confidence than an armed man. - Thomas Jefferson

I support concealed carry, but I don't see how it would have stopped this. Not trying to be argumentative, but I have to believe the assailant thought he was going to die anyway. The threat of death would not have deterred him.
If someone gets up to get something out of the overhead rack, or to talk to someone a few seats in front of him, when do you pull your weapon and tell him to sit down?
I don't think this is a good argument for concealed carry. We need a better one that the Brady bunch can't pull apart.

Shouldn't this read:
"people with a grudge and people who are simply careless or uneducated about firearms safety can and do support the Brady Campaign, posing a potential danger to their families and communities."
These Brady Campaign pukes need to just hunker in a gated community somewhere in Australia and leave the real Americans alone.

Actually I think the offical line from Harry Brown is that the root cause of this attack was US foreign policy and we must understand and assume WE are the root cause of these disasters. After all, if we don't recognise that WE are the problem, then how can we fix it?

My state's CWP does not allow threats or warnings. You keep your rod in your britches until time to use it to "deliver you from evil."
Similar logic applies in the air. No one knows you're armed until you draw and kill the terr. Just as on the ground I'm sure you'll be incarcerated at least early in the investigation. Goat or hero in one micro-second.

if anyone can bring a gun but only terrorists bring them then people will be killed. We also can't assume a terrorist will be deterred by the possibility that someone has a gun. Mutually assured destruction doesn't work with suicide terrorists. What about better protection? We can have bullet proof partitions for bus drivers just like we have for taxi drivers.

If any of these yahoo libertarians ever road a bus they would realize quite a few passengers probably are armed and carry quantities of drugs. Libertarian heaven - guns and drugs!

No Harry Brown's position is that this was the direct result of the confiscation of personal income to build the unconstitutional interstate highway system. Surely, you can see that a network of privately funded and owned roads would have prevented this. If eveyone owned their own road then they could travel with as much armament as they please. After all, who would try to hijack you if you were driving your own Armored Personnel Carrier or tank?
I think Michael Rivero is working on some kind of conspiracy link involving the Mossad, the CIA, the Arkansas Mafia, "Socks, the Cat", Princess Dianna, and John Doe #394A.

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence doesn't thinkLet's just leave it at that. Best describes Brady and accomplices.
"abusive husbands, mentally unstable individuals, people with a grudge and people who are simply careless or uneducated about firearms safety can and do get CCW permits, posing a potential danger to their families and communities."
abusive husbands, mentally unstable individuals, people with a grudge and people who are simply careless or uneducated about knife, baseball bat and tire iron safety can and do get them posing a potential danger to their families and communities.
If guns cause crime, matches cause arson
Guns, knives, baseball bats and tire irons don't kill people, people with a grudge and people who are simply careless or uneducated kill people.

Well, how long will it be before someone claims this is related to libertarians using drugs?

If someone gets up to get something out of the overhead rack, or to talk to someone a few seats in front of him, when do you pull your weapon and tell him to sit down? When they brandish a gun in a threatening manner. Same as when you are approached on the street. I shouldn't have to be telling you this.
I don't think this is a good argument for concealed carry. We need a better one that the Brady bunch can't pull apart.
Since when is the self-defense of your life and the noble self-defense of twenty other passengers' lives not worth of concealed carry? That's the pointed rhetoric. The self-defense of your life and the noble/heroic self-defense of twenty other passengers' lives is overwhelming cause/reason for concealed carry.
The Brady bunch will try to pull anything out of context. The response is to put it back in valid context and then point out that the Brady bunch is the problem for forcing innocent citizens to be defenseless while making it easier for criminals to victimize innocent people.

if anyone can bring a gun but only terrorists bring them then people will be killed. Not an original or astute observation. It's like saying only a fool brings a knife to a gun fight. It's that way now because of 20,000 unconstitutional gun-control laws and most of all, the scare/fear tactics used to "legitimize" the passing of those laws is why many more people don't carry guns.
