"It was astounding," Jordan said. "When he showed it to me, I was an instant believer."

Awesome!

(But why didn't anyone take any pictures before they moved them? Too bad.)

This undated photo of two metal beams, center, that form a cross that rises out of the
destruction at the World Trade Center, was made available in New York, Thursday, Oct. 4,
2001. The cast iron "cross," which fell intact from Tower One into nearby Building Six on Sept.
11., was blessed on Thursday by Rev. Brian Jordan, a Franciscan priest, as rescue workers
who have adopted it as a symbol of faith gathered around to watch. (AP Photo/Pool)

From the book of Genesis: "You meant it for evil, but God is using it for good."

Bump for the 'THE CROSS'. Yesterday I put a cross on my house and yard for protection for the tragic times to come. And a LOT of prayer to boot. We are definitely under 666. The devil has been loosed. Beware. Walk a straight line.

Wonderful, more idols for catholics to pray to.

What a disgustingly bigoted and ignorant statment on your part. The crosses are a sign, not an idol. No one is praying to the cross. It's a not too fine distinction, but one which is nevertheless lost on small minds.

History is rich in instances where God shows us signs, as a gift, to have courage and keep faith with Him, especially in times of trouble.

History is rich in instances where God shows us signs, as a gift, to have courage and keep faith with Him, especially in times of trouble.

History is also "rich" in instances of the spiritually weak minded praying to spilled ice cream in Houston and a windex smear on a shop window in Miami during the elian gonzales incident because some catholic thought it looked like Mary.

MARK 8:11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
MARK 8:12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.

I agree with these workers. This cross would make a fitting memorial.
