Two Things That Need To Be Addressed
FOX NEWS (TV) | 10-3-01 | timydnuc

The things I've heard discussed on Fox tonight have a multitude of range, but two stick out in my mind. I am an expert, of sorts, in the area of disease and nuclear weapons. My credentials have always been in medicine, but the growing panic pushes me to exclaim the following:

1) The first deployment of nuclear weapons could be against our own country. If the terrorists infect an area with biological weapon that would sprend throughout the population, we may have to employ a nuclear device to stop the spread of the disease.

Let me explain: A Thermo-nuclear warhead, when detonated, will produce a temperature of 4500+ degrees (F). Nothing...NOTHING can live at these temperatures. It's a sterization process. Sure, it will kill much more that the virus. The problem is, you must kill the virus. After that, on this scenerio, we must attack (thermo-nuclear) the origin of the biological and/or chemical weapon to erradicate it. We must do this to survive the next attack.

Logistically we must keep Thermo-nuclear weapons in our arsenal. It the only way to survive this.

It is a terrible response, until 9-11. It's a perfect response now.

2)They have awakened a sleeping Giant, they have invaded my country, they have killed my brothers & sisters. They have pissed off the wrong people...period! We are here to protect and defend our way of life, our constitution, our neighbors. There is no way that we will stop. You can hurt us, but we will hurt you twice. You can defame us, but we will hurt you back. You can dance at our funerals, but we'll take retribution, and we'll take that in our own time, and it will be severe and justified. We don't dance at funerals, we even mourn the enemy. We don't like to kill. You've pushed us to war, and we will prevail. As much as you hate us, we stand for the freedom of a soul to do the best it can. We stand for the idology of one man to make his mark, and fortune unencumbered by another man's edict to be a slave. There are no slaves here, there are Americans.

You have made me your enemy. You have attacked me and killed my brother & sisters. I will hunt you down, for rest of my life, and I will kill you. As my God is my witness!

People are getting totally out of control! Calm down. There's no need to get excited about such extreme exposure numbers when there's no realistic model in existence which would lead one to believe that such effects could be obtained in such a time frame - realistically, it's not going to happen to that many people in that quick of a time - even if it was to ever happen; whereas it's more likely the terrorists will continue to use other unconventional "weapons" ala planes or buy some nuclear missiles.

Dude. Chill.

A bio-attack would be simply uncontainable.

You'd have to fry the whole damn country.

Better to prevent one, methinks.

Figure that part out and you've got my vote.
