When The most important quality in any member of any armed service was a williness to serve this country and defend it against all comers.
What changed That one overriding requirement?
I ain't buying the "war is a young man's game" idea,
There have been a lot of old farts that went to war and did their duty.

The defence of this country shouldn't be limited by age or rank, and since the end of WWII and the USMJ it has.

I knew some 18-year Pfcs at MCAF New River in late '67 when I got there as a LCpl just out of school!
