What would Jesus do?

He'd kill them all and let Dad sort them out!

This is so stupid.

Jesus was a philosopher, not a head of state. Bush is not Jesus, he's an ordinary man, fallible like the rest of us, and can't rely on his dad for a lot of miracles (George H. W. Bush has some important friends in the Arab world, but he just can't compare to God). That doesn't mean Bush shouldn't struggle to uphold Christian values while carrying out this campaign.

And what's so terrible about looking after his own immortal soul? How could that POSSIBLY conflict with upholding his duties as president? Many Christians in America believe the Constitution to be inspired by God, and consider upholding it to be a sacred duty.

If Bush wanted to imitate Jesus, he wouldn't be the president, he'd be poor, and travel, and preach to people. I doubt we're in danger of Bush suddenly not being president, and deciding to just "hobo it for a while" with a Bible, maybe head out to some African countries to try and convert the natives.

No, Bush is going to fulfill his duties as president. Why would anyone use a time like this to bash WWJD? The comPost is pathetic.

I think you might be right. I think there were times when Jesus advocated violence in the name of what was right. The money changers in the temple comes to mind. Jesus wasn't gentle with them.

I think there's a contradiction by the writer when he says Bush shouldn't ask WWJD in this situation, then follows by quoting Jesus on what to do. At least it's the writer's selection of what he thinks Jesus would do in this situation.

Jesus was nailed to a cross. If people want to do that to me, some of them are going to get a bullet.

The chief concern of a president should not be the condition of his own immortal soul. His job is clearly stated in his oath: to "faithfully execute the office ofthe President" and to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution."

It would behoove Von Drehle to go back to the drawing board and research the personal lives of the signers of our Constitution, lest he sound like a blathering fool. It may surprise him to find out that most of them, if not all of them, were not just Christians but God-fearing, born-again Christians who sought God's wisdom in all aspects of their lives.

IMHO, we would not be living in such a great nation had our forefathers not sought the wisdom of God as the foundation of our country was being formed.

Fun with syllogisms:

The chief concern of every person should be the condition of his own immortal soul.

The chief concern of a president should not be the condition of his own immortal soul.

Therefore, the president is not a person.

T The chief concern of a president should not be the condition of his own immortal soul.

A deep level of ignorance on the part of the author is evident. It sounds like it was written by a HS freshman.

What Would Jesus Do?

In his own words, He did only that which He saw His Father doing.

His Father was the God that spoke to Moses out of the burning bush and gave His Name as I Am - YHWH.

The Father was the same that called Abram to the promised land, and gave him the name Abraham.

The God of Abraham was the same that spoke in Genesis 17:20 "And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation." (NIV)

To better understand what is happening, I must relate second-hand what a middle-easterner ranted to a friend earlier this year.

After learning that my friend was not an American, the person went into a long rant about how America was going to be brought down because of "her love affair with Israel".

This whole issue of attacks on America is about our support for Israel. The One to whom Jesus looked is also the One that promised that whosoever blessed Israel, would likewise have the Father's blessing.

Folks, this is not going to be a religious war, but believe me, it is a spiritual war. This is fast becoming a struggle between Good and Evil.

Our President was right on when he declared these acts as evil. There is a spirit behind these acts.

Christians are taught that we do not battle with "flesh and blood" but with spiritual principalities.

It is fine with me if our President seeks the advice of Jesus. Joshua once stood before the Captain of the Host of the Lord (Joshua 5:13-14) asking "Are you for us or against us?"

The response - Neither.

I believe we will witness in this time events that will absolute astonish the world as we witness the Hand of God as He protects His chosen people, the children of Abraham.

It is time to look beyond our little personal world and get a much larger grasp of what is happening.

How about:

WWJRD?

What Would Janet Reno Do?

She's willing to kill anyone that gets in the way of her getting her man. With a head wrap and her beard grown out she'd fit right in. Perfect disguise.

I saw a great cartoon this morning. If the Taliban doesn't give up Usama, we'll send all their women to college. In a couple of years they could be surrounded by Hillarys and Janet Renos.

They think they're miserable now? Just wait.
