Not sure who wrote this other than he is apparently a serviceman. I did a search and could not find this editorial on FR so I thought I'd share it with everybody. The guy makes some pretty damn good points.

Good post.

Bravo! I was wondering if it had occured to you--and to others--that bin Ladin has used the same type class envy-class warfare rhetoric to gain his following as does the liberal political movement in the US, today...

Not sure who wrote this other than he is apparently a serviceman. I'm pretty sure Ted Nugent wrote it.

BUMP I would certainly like to see this published FRONT PAGE in the NYT. But it's not just the American "people" to blame IMHO. We elect "representatives" and even in the best of times we wouldn't have the hours needed to "keep and eye on them" completely. In fact, the notion that we need to "keep an eye REALLY turned on them" indicates they are NOT representing us well. They are wheeling and dealing and playing with money and power.
I have seen the same "let's make a deal" mentality in state and local politics. Today one of "our" democrat state reps voted against an important security bill because it didn't include some add on work safety junk. (partisan poop probably)
The American people may be asleep at the wheel, but our politicians are awake and running wild in the hen house. Both are to blame. But people who pretend to "represent us" then screw us when our backs are turned seem to me MORE reprehensible.

Bump! BTW, I'm a USAF vet (got out in late '91 after 9 years) and I couldn't concur more. Most Americans never even raised an eyebrow after Kobar Towers and USS Cole (some noticed the embassy bombings in Africa for as long as their puny attention spans could handle). But NOW those same lazy, selfish, spoiled brats DEMAND we respond militarily and teach those nasty terrorists a lesson. Not that they could personally be bothered to volunteer for military duty themselves; there's no 401k and I might have to work weekends WITH NO OVERTIME PAY!
Sorry to rant but this one really struck a chord with me. I'm glad to see all the "patriotism" on display now. I just wonder where it was when the military was under attack and when Bubba was sending troops to get slaughtered in Somalia. I just hope and pray the unity I see today will last at least one major election cycle. I also hope the vast majority of Americans really think about the sacrifices our brave military members make - all the time - and how dispicably the military was abused and misused during the Clinton years. Hey all you damn soccer moms: don't you DARE ever elect another President like that again! We Americans who have actually GIVEN to this great country deserve better than that. Far better.
