From one fellow Parrott Head to another - Excellent! I've been humming that tune for a few years now.

I'm sorry but Jimmy Buffet is absolutely terrible! In addition to his music being subpar, he is a flaming liberal.

I believe he was on the Gore Florida campaign in 2000 and prior to the November election, he held a concert for Gore.

Here is something from a Buffet web site:
Jimmy to Perform at Democratic Fund Raiser Aug 4th, 2000 - 7:00 am Edt

Variety reports: "The importance of electing Al Gore in this year's election got me to return to concert production one last time," says Miramax Films co-chairman Harvey Weinstein. He's partnered in yet another gala for the Gore campaign.

This one's "The Concert," Sept. 14 at Radio City Music Hall, for the Democratic National Committee. Weinstein's teamed with Jann Wenner and John Sykes to present this concert featuring Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, Jon Bon Jovi, Macy Gray, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B. Schmit who will perform songs by the Eagles -- plus name presenters

Tickets for the event range from $125 to $100. Ticket info is available at Democrats.org: Concert at Radio City Music Hall Honoring Vice President Al Gore or call 212-597-9114.

From the Wall of Sound article "Stars to Fête Al Gore": "I just like participating in democracy," said Buffett in a statement Thursday. "That might sound corny to people, but I think I'm lucky to be included in things like this that might make people's lives better."

- staying up late to see Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show
- vinyl go-go boots and Lip Smackers
- the first Rocky and Jaws and this this amzing new movie like none other, Star Wars
- Captain Kirk and David Cassidy (sigh)
- not wearing seatbelts and thinking nothing of it
- My first concert: John Denver
