I believe it was tongue in cheek also. Did anyone read her Sept 6 article on Andrea Yates. If that is any indication, she is perfectly capable of tongue in cheek prose, that's for sure. Unfortunately, we appear to be going hyper sensitive already to any criticism of Muslims or Islam, even if it's justified. Isn't it interesting to find some of the lefties shielding a RELIGIOUS movement from "hate speech" when they engaged in brutalizing a religious movement in thier own community for so long(Christianity)? Anyway, I'm wandering off topic....

My first reaction when I read this was that, although she's obviously kidding, my own feelings after learning of the death of a good friend in this attack were similar: Kill all their men sell all their women and children into slavery sow their fields with salt Perhaps if Ann had written this, some at NR would have recognized it as the Roman solution to their problem with Carthage, and therefore noticed that what she was saying was, in essence, that this horrific act of war demands not "a reasoned response" but blood vengeance.
