These Colors Don't Run! I am very PROUD of Mrs. Post, she's a True Patriot! She's made from the same fiber as Todd Beamer, a Proud American!

Near Sumter, SC, there is a cemetary called the Singleton Graveyard where many members of this family were buried from pre-Revolutionary War times to the 1940s. I did a research project on that cemetary and its occupants, from a famous governor with a big monument all the way down to little babies who died and were buried with little monuments to slaves who died and were buried with none. It was a depressing project. The Singleton name has been shamed many, many times by members of the family who could not control their bigoted, misogynist and greedy natures. There were a few members of the family whose lives were good and filled with courage and charity, but there were many whose lives left me deeply depressed and barely able to proceed with the project. It doesn't seem unlikely that this Singleton is a relative--there are many people, black and white, who trace their heritage to this particular plantation-owning family--and if so, he's "gone done it again."
