Favorites: Diplomacy, Supremacy, Advanced Squad Leader, AD&D massed battle system (or whatever it was called), Axis and Allies, Age of Empires, Caesar III, Steel Panthers I,II,III, History of the World, etc, etc.

The last time my current gaming group played we stayed up till about 4:00 am. A lot of fun.

And for anyone who hasn't tried them I recommend Risk 2210 and History of the World (both reissued by the new Avalon Hill - they got bought out by Hasbro.) Also see Axis and Allies:Pacific and Europe

It's been patched to 1.08. Wingmen control is still tough but improved. You can change vehicles, if your tank is knocked out.

Lots of mods. Russian front, British tanks, snow and night battles, drivable russian tanks, some more North African battles, Britsh vs Italian/German.

It's going to be re-released with all the mods included.

Wonder if this guy liked the GDW Chaco game, or the one in Command magazine.

Sadly, both outfits are now defunct.

Big Civilization III bump. Frontiers and borders in the new version. I can't wait. Comes out October 30. Now, if I can loan my 11 month old son to someone for a couple of weeks, I could have some real fun.

I'm surprised to see no mention of my favorite Close Combat: Operation Market Square Garden; Eastern Front(III); Battle of the Bulge(IV); and Invasion Normandy(V). I wholly recommend these to all real-time war gamers who love platoon-level, squad-level, etc games that will run on both Macs and PCs(yes, even on 2000 believe it or not).. enjoy the screams(das blut! das blut! und Wir geben uns!)
