Iran Assembling Arab Coalition Against Action Against Afghanistan
MSNBC Television | 9/30/2001 | Kevin Tibble

Posted on 09/30/2001 1:52:58 PM PDT by rumrunner

Kevin Tibble of MSNBC just reported inside of Eygpt that Iran is assembling an Arab coalition to oppose any United States actions against Afghanistan and the Taliban. Reportedly Mubarak has met with Iran and is signing off on such a position. The Arab coalition will contend that unless such action is under the auspices of the United Nations then it is illegitimate.

Re: religion of Iranians -- With only two exceptions, all the Iranians I've been associated with here in Los Angeles -- and we're up to our eyeballs in Iranians, are JEWISH. The two exceptions were: one Iranian-Armenian Christian, and the other, a VERY moderate Muslim who detested the mullahs, etc., in her home country.

Amen! We don't want the UN involved in any aspect of us going after the enemies of our beloved United States. We shouldn't let anyone especially our friends and allies give any more legitimacy to the illegitimate communist/leftist American hating United Nations.

It's time has come and gone and we need to get out of the UN.

China is behind this.

I was just going to say the same thing.

There have been many conspiratorial sitings of Chinese troops on the Mexican border. If these sitings are legit, the Red Chinese are waiting to pick us off on our own, unprotected, soil while our military might is being expended 8,000 miles from home.

Every possible method will be used to turn our nation against its leaders. The Arab terrorists are certain that our people are stupid and of course many are. Various factions within the Arab nations release all kinds of disinformation designed to turn us against our leaders. If they were really plotting against us they would be as secretive as the highjackers were. As we move toward war, it is not likely any govenrment would stand up and scream, "Hey you Yes you...SAM ...don't forget we are your enemy. And don't forget if you bomb us, we have dozens of camels to use against you."

They are trying everything they can to unite Arabs against us. We are doing all we can to divide and conquer Arabs. Some people are just way to dumb to figure it out. We try to upset every Arab calculation by making them unsure of who is really in our pocket and who is not.

We must remember that few Armericans are eductated to think and reason. They do scream and yell a lot and are easily duped. We have good people in charge. We need to remember that at least 80 percent of what gets published or broadcast is bull sh*t. Most of the media is internationally owned and has zero loyalty to the United States. Nearly all media does business all over the world and is more concerned about upsetting growth areas for their business than they are about the truth. Last on their list is the welfare of the United States beyond protection of their income.

I posed a question the other day. Are internationl corporations protected by the bill of rights. Isn't the bill of rights to apply only to citizens of the US? Many international firms that control and distribute the news are not American. They are not for us. Many may be against us.

In all my years in journalism I never read a story about a supject on which I was expert that was any where near all true. Why did I asume that stories on subjects about which I was not expert were all true? Why do others do the same?

It was in 1957 that my first employer screamed at me,"We are not in the truth business Dummy, We are in the NEWS business..." I have never forgotten it.

Screw that. It's time to put the Turks back in charge of the Middle East, especially the Arabs. The Turks actually know how to fight, unlike the rest of the Islamic countries. Let's make an alliance with Turkey, Israel and India and then divide up everything from the Nile to the Indus among them.

NO QUARTER!

True but France and the US are considering selling weapons to Iran.

That's the same mistake we've made before in alot of these countries.

I teach ESL, and the Iranian students I've had are very capitalistic in their lifestyles. Many of the women are educated, have had nose jobs, and testify that the minute they walk into their homes in Iran, they remove their chadors. They seem so eager to "Americanize" and many are quite wealthy.

Iranians are Persian, not Arab. They aren't from the same ethnic group. Their only ties to the Arabs are Islam and where their country is located. Iranians are mainly shia'a muslim. It's a masochistic religion. They go through their streets, swinging chains against their backs, leaving them bloody and scarred. They believe that through pain and mutiliation, they can repent their sins and reach redemption.

I think (hope) you are underestimating our leaders. I think they would basically agree with your analysis. You can't honestly expect them to come out and say that today, do you? We would be stalled before we even demolish the Taliban, Osama and his groups. I think this is surely coming. Very dark clouds on the horizon for Afgahn. No reason to broadcast our intentions any more than is being done. They are playing it quite well. I think we will both be satisfied with the outcome. Shorterm and long. Bush won't backdown. I even think Powell is on board. They are just saying and doing what is necessary to achieve our objectives.

Don't be so naive - many Middle East govts will support but play both sides. They must maintain popular support while agreeing with the fight against fundamentalists behind the scenes.

Bush must stand fast.

Don't worry. He will. This was all worked-out early on. There is all the coverage anyone would ever need in international law for a sovereign nation to do exactly what we are doing. This is a dog and pony show as far as international law is concerned. These guys would be doing the same thing if the tables were turned. But it could be dangerous. While calling us "racist" they plot against us.
