I think lots of people just choose to mold their thoughts and beliefs about God into a package that makes them comfortable. It is painful to think about billions of people who will suffer for eternity, which is why we as Christians are charged with spreading the Gospel to the unsaved masses.

It's late and I can't begin to quote a verse to back this up, but I'm sure that I've read or been taught somewhere that everyone at some point has a chance to receive Christ, that those who are not witnessed to by humans will be ministered to by the Holy Spirit. Please someone correct me on this if I'm wrong and nobody think that I'm saying for sure it's this way because I'd never want to misrepresent anything in God's Word.

In the movies, we all go "toward the light," and that's nice and easy to believe but in reality, narrow is the way. Easy but narrow.

Well I think this is theological speculation. But it is well reasoned based on what we know about God's mercy. God is fair. Perfectly fair. To be fair is NOT the same thing as being permissive. So we should not presume upon his mercy or dispair that he will withhold it. We just have to have a hopeful confidence in him that his mercy and his justice are in perfect balance.
