I've never changed out an extractor before -- do the instructions explain "tuning" as well as "fitting?" I can detail strip a 1911 no problem and swap out MS housings and springs and such, but never messed with an extractor. Something just bugs me about bending a critical piece of a gun.

Absolutely. Someone was even kind enough to copy Bill's instructions and post them here complete with scanned pics. Don't worry about any issues involved with "bending a critical part". Just follow the instructions. It's a snap. But if you're still dead set against it, a local 'smith could probably do it for about ten bucks.

One thing I should probably add..... Wilson makes his extractors with some really killer tolerances. I've NEVER needed to file ANYTHING when fitting one of his Bulletproofs. Bending was all that was necessary.
