When they were back on the campus lawn, they spread out in a big inclusive circle. I spread out with them and continued to chant and sing as the situation warranted.

Way to go! I always think of Al Capp (creator of L'il Abner) when he created a character named Joanie Phony to mock Joan Baez...she was furious and yelled and screamed and he told her that she didn't need to think that SHE had a monopoly on protest.
