"1984" has "come" at least 30 times since 1984. The entire concept is very tiresome, much as the endless "end times" speculations.
You might say "1984" (or something similar to it) has been slowly advancing since 1865. If you look at too small of a chunk of time at once, you won't see the creep.
Also, this world WILL end, one day. That's a fact of science, which makes you wonder why atheists ever get into arguments, or care about anyone else, for that matter.
