Part of me hopes that the President and his inner circle keep perspectives like this in the back of their minds, as they deal with the immediate threat, with all of its economic and political implications.

The sad reality is there is probably much truth in what this writer says. But, we are in no position to quarrel with the entire Arab world, given the importance of oil and the national economy.

This piece, and others like it that attempt to pull our PC blinders off, only serve for me to underscore the critical importance of developing American sources of oil (like ANWR) that will reduce, if not eliminate our reliance on foreign sources.

Because, let's face it, if it weren't for oil, we wouldn't give a crap what the tinhorn despots of some barren wasteland thought about what we did.

Bingo, and our leaders had better start exploiting our own resources and developing new sources of energy or we're never going to be free and independant of this filth.
