What an odd thing to say.
Not being a lawyer, all his comments sound perfectly reasonable to me and I am no supporter of bin Laden.
Perhaps you can address the statements with useful input instead of name-calling?
For instance how did the declaration against the Barbary Pirates figure into the discussion?
What specific differences are there vis a vis civilian casualties?
How does the susceptibility of certain members of Congress to charges of treason and Sedition figure in the lack of Declaration of War?
Curious minds need to know.
And someone could check with Yahoo and Excite now to find out what their policy is -- as they are almost certain to have copyrights on some of the winners.
It's awesome isn't it.
The very conditional support we are getting from Pakistan and Iran and Saudi Arabia would be flushed down the toilet if we declared war. Bush has a Harvard MBA. A good manager knows that getting the job done is what's important-- everything else (who gets credit, etc.) is secondary. If we help the Northern Alliance to oust the Taliban, our objective is achieved and we don't have to fuss with objections from Arab and Muslim nations who wouldn't like the precedent of the "West" deciding such important things about sovereign nations in Asia.
By not declaring war, we can use the intelligence of these coalition nations and get them to support shutting down the flow of cash to these terrorists. Some of these nations can convince their populations to support doing what we are doing -- and what they are helping us to do-- as long as we aren't "at war".
