What's going on with the fonts?
Posted on 09/27/2001 3:52:09 PM PDT by steveegg
What happened to the fonts around here? Seems when I look at responses, things are blockquoted and in an odd font.

Say, in using the tag -- -- BASE HREF="http://www.some-web-site.com" -- it worked before, and it was helpful keeping the tags linking right to the way an original web page was set up. But now it won't work. Is it possible to get it to work -- so that all the URLs don't have to be "hard-coded" in to make them work? I've been using that heavily also. Would not want to go thru a document and fix each link!

Am I the only one seeing nothing but italics since reply 131? Well, not on mine -- anyway. I'm using Netscape 4.6.1 (on a Mac) and it's not showing all italics. So, don't know. Maybe others will respond.

it doesn't work... but you can use the <font face="Times New Roman"> tag if you prefer the old font. see my last post link.
To: steveegg
Oh no! There is gonna be alot more yellow highlighting from now on. Might need to stop displaying that option on the "Reply" page.

Change the font back to Times if too many people have problems with this one. NO!!!! I like sans serif, much easier to read .. don't make me have to put up with Times New Roman (you know the type), thanks.

John, I guess you didn't really ask for our opinions but since everyone is unloading then I might as well do likewise. With all due respect, I'd rather not have the indentations in every post unless I choose to offset a quote in that manner. Is that what everyone is calling a blockquote ? Also, I must not know what is meant by close tags either. Isn't a close tag like this: </ i> ? Well, ... ok... just so I don't seem totally negative and opposed to all change let me say I like the highlighting option. :) BTW, I couldn't access the style sheet you referenced.

I rather like the large print version of FR, myself.

Hmm,, I'm on a Mac with NS 4.77 and everything's fine up to thread 131 and after that it's all italics. No other threads have the problem

Ditto here. Can't find where the source got corrupted, and can't correct. Going to have to try IE 6 to see if it's duplicated there.

yes, but I have been up for 38 hours and driven 2000 miles in the last 3 days

i'm on the phone to a freeper who sees only italics. i will try a </i> here and see if it helps. doubt it.

Must be something specific to the Winblown version of Nutscape 4.7x. Don't see any italics in Internut Exploder.
To: Sidebar Moderator, John Robinson
yup, he's running netscape 4.7 under windows 98, and italics haven't gone away. my post 176 is in italics to him.
To: Sidebar Moderator
Must be Nutscape 4.77 (doesn't matter if it's Muckintosh or Winblown)
