What's going on with the fonts?
Posted on 09/27/2001 3:52:09 PM PDT by steveegg
What happened to the fonts around here? Seems when I look at responses, things are blockquoted and in an odd font.

I believe the name of the font I used was "modern" but you would have to check the message I sent. I think it was Garamond. I think you used "modern" for the third line of your post. You used Copperplate Gothic Bold (I think) for the first sentence.

Clear your cache.

My 2 cents worth - the auto close tags will be nice but the
yellow highlight will almost certainly be way overused for no good reason and most of us will be sick of it in a few days...
I am aiming for post #100 here ....!

Well, I like not having to fix someone else's open tags. But both the yellow AND the font are ugly. Well, I actually liked to closr tags using Laz's blaster.
What got broke and why are we fixing it? And i just left open tags on this
yes I did that

Warning, it can cause you grief on other web pages. I don't like grief.

In the same Internet Options I just said (at least for IE 6, it might be different for IE 5, but I doubt it), click on the Delete Files button.

Verdana, Arial or Tahoma is easier to read. Not this one.

I am going to kill the first person that goes bezerk with the highlighting. It is killing my eyes and nothing that anyone has to say it THAT important.

But with no cache, what happens to gravitas?

What happens when I click "Delete Files"? What gets deleted? Do all of my "favorite pages" get zapped?

John Robinson told me to clear my cache. How do I do that? (Steveegg told me to ask you.)

You're missing out on some real "fun" fonts out there <G>. Let me guess, you're using Nutscape and don't allow it to display Dynamic Fonts.

If you download the option I told you about in post #86, you could quickly highlight stylin_geek's post #64 and see this:
<P><FONT face="copperplate gothic bold" color=#086503 size=4>Jim, there are those of us who have been playing with fonts and colors for a while.</FONT><FONT face=garamond color=#55128d size=4> Well, I shouldn't say that, as I am new here. However, I noticed you allow a lot of freedom in fonts and colors..so,</FONT><FONT face=Modern color=#12498d size=4> I get the hex value for color, and insert it when I am playing with fonts.</FONT> </P>
which shows what fonts he used and appears like this:
Jim, there are those of us who have been playing with fonts and colors for a while. Well, I shouldn't say that, as I am new here. However, I noticed you allow a lot of freedom in fonts and colors..so, I get the hex value for color, and insert it when I am playing with fonts.
download the partial source function - you'll love it!
