Even Mullah Mohammed Omar, the Taliban's leader, attended the school briefly before he left in the 1980s to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.
"They are all our inspiration," Haq says. "And soon, we'll be fighting alongside them."
Tens of thousands of students at Pakistan's 6,000 militant Muslim madrassas say they plan to go to Afghanistan to fight U.S. soldiers, attack bases in Pakistan that may host American forces, or conduct suicide bomb attacks against U.S. targets if President Bush launches military action against bin Laden and the ruling Taliban militia in Afghanistan.

"These schools are providing an education which is basically unchanged from the 11th century," says Islamic analyst Pervez Hoodboy. He says they produce "a student with a particular mindset, one who does not question and who can be easily motivated into fighting to the death."

These days, it gives you a secure feeling to be working in a suburban office park of nondescript one-story buildings. No grand skyscaper for me, thanks.

"The Islamic clerics who run the schools say they want to explain their anger to Americans before their jihad against the United States begins."
Hey - What the heck, they only want to "dialog" with us and "give peace a chance" - ....
.....BEFORE they start their "unholy" war against us.
So, like, why are we going to "talk" to them in a "peaceful dialog"??????
Sounds like who we are supposed to begin talking with have ALREADY DECIDED that they are at war with us.
To: Who dat?
How can you convict someone without presenting evidence or witnesses against the alleged culprit? The call us hypocrites? How can they murder 7000 people without any evidence or witnesses?
Maybe they would understand it better if we said this was a "crusade" so we can kill or convict anyone we want.

"We are all Osama bin Ladens," says Abdullah Shah, 35, senior teacher at Dar-ul-Alloon Sarhad, a nearby madrassa. "Getting rid of one Osama won't solve your problems. Your trouble is just beginning."No, Abdullah, your trouble is just beginning but you don't know it yet, so enjoy your blissful, arrogant ignorance while you still can. We are coming.

This isn't a courtroom. We aren't going to convict you...you will condemn yourselves and we will take you out. There now is a presumption of guilt, not innocence. If radical islamic terrorists and sypmathizers want mercy, give up now.
Funny how these radicals who hate the US and our rule of law are all the sudden concerned protecting their "rights" and the application of the non war rules of law.p> I sincerely hope that we have assets in Pakistan right now taking pictures of all these "students" and getting copies of their files for future wartime measures.

60 years ago, it was Hitler Youth and Japanese teens devoted to the Emperor. And they were much better prepared for war than these unfortunate kids are.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. There must be a special place in hell for those who century after century lead these kids to their deaths.

The U.S. + NATO + Japan + China + India should immediately form a consortium to occupy, operate and regulate the Gulf oil fields. There will be no recovery from poor economics and no end to terrorism as long as the Arabs control most of the world's oil.

It is pretty clear from this article that the radical Muslims of this world are dead serious about this being the beginning of their Holy War Jihad against the West. We don't need to learn anything more about these insane, backward Muslim cultures other than there is nothing that they won't do to destroy us. If there ever was a nest of evil in this world that needs to be cleaned out permanently this is it. If we don't, they will, without a doubt, kill many, many more of us. The only mistake we can make when we take the war to these murderous zealots is to not be ruthless enough. They have earned our wrath to the fullest extent and there will be no peace in this world as long as people like this live.

You left out Russia. They are being far more cooperative in this effort so far than China is.

"I, and all my students, will support the Taliban and Osama at all costs. They are the only ones implementing true Islam.
Cutting off womens fingers that have nail polish on them? Shooting a woman for trying to take her sick child to the doctor without a male escort? Shooting a woman for starting to cross the street in front of a man? Shooting people for laughing in public? Thats the real Islam?
Wow, sounds like fun.

Yes, if they want to be martyred so badly, then I'm sure we will oblige them. I'm not sure many of us can really grasp what a fight this might turn out to be, not a difficult fight for us militarily, but a difficult fight emotionally. These people WANT to be martyred, and that's something that just doesn't square with our worldview. It makes them a literally "implacable" enemy, in a sense the exact opposite of Gandhi's armies who were equally dedicated , but dedicated to satyagraha,(not fighting back). They think the world will see them in the same light, but the world will be shocked at how ready they are to die for nothing.

It will take one fuel/air bomb to ruin this guy's whole day.

That does it. Why, I say WHY are people not being deported left and right. We are at war. For their protection (as well as ours) it is time to send anyone who should not be here, or only by the government's temporary grace, is here....home. By the way, any exterminators on the board that can give us a comprehensive lesson on the way one rids one house of a roach infestation? Is it possible to leave the nests of "decent" unseen bugs intact, but get rid of the really pesky ones, that insist that one way or another they will contaminate all that is in their paths?

Must be P.O.ed about Sears pulling support for Mahar show.

Didn't you hear?
Islam is a peaceful religion and most Muslims condemn what happened to the WTC and 7,000 civilians on Wall St.

They have pushed us far enough to justify the occupation of this resource for our own economic, security, and military interests and that of our allies. It's coming friend, just one more attack on US soil and gasoline will cost what it did in the '50's

Isn't it interesting that the part of the world which wishes to drive out all Christians is the Islamic part? Could that be because of all people Satan hates Christians most of all. Islam's dream- a Christian-free world.
