That's the core of Western Leftism in practice: power for the ideologues, or destruction for everyone. This is why I was so surprised during the counter-revolution in the Soviet Union that the communists, upon seeing that their empire was about to collapse from within, refrained from firing even one of their nuclear missiles.

This taught me that deep down inside, even a Russian Marxist doesn't want mass destruction. Only an American or Western European Leftist -- as found on our university campuses, in the media, on the threads of the left-wing Internet hate sites, and among the leaders of the Democratic Party -- harbors a secret desire for complete anarchy. They pay lip service to Marxist theory, Coyote, but their core beliefs are anarchist, not Marxist.

Bryan, I don't want to be argumentative on this thread, but I think they want anarchy only in the sense of personal behavior. They are still materialist totalitarians. The combination is marxist to the core.
