You might think that WestMex would show up to chat...I just love to talk to WWII Vets. In fact...I will tell you a secret. Well, it might be a morbid subject to some...but so be it. This wonderful lady in our area started a group of ladies to mourn at gravesite burials of WWII vets. Seems she was visiting the gravesite of a loved one and witnessed a dismal sight. A veteran was being buried...all alone except for two funeral home directors. When she questioned them, they said that he had no known family and was in a nursing home when he died. She cried and then got busy. One of her friends told her of an organization that reqruited members to be present for our vets, so that they would not be buried alone and unloved. She did not even contact that organization, but did it locally. I am proud and sad when I get a call to honor the veterans of WWII, always.
