This week's articles, I've noticed, are making serious points, cloaked in gentle humor. Admirable restraint on the part of the Onion staff, but even more admirable that they didn't fold up the tent. They're continuing to do as Bush and Giuliani suggested -- getting on with their lives.

I particularly liked the article God Angrily Clarifies "Don't Kill" Rule. It's funny, and yet it nearly made this grown man cry. And I don't even believe in God. Read it and see if you know what I mean.

The article about God is very good -- yep, the Onion gets it right yet again. Satire sometimes says it best.

I particularly liked the article God Angrily Clarifies "Don't Kill" Rule.

This one's remarkably poignant as well (not to mention enormously funny): American Life Turns Into Bad Jerry Bruckheimer Movie

Excerpt:

All the familiar action-movie elements were there: terrorists taking over a plane, panicked crowds, huge fireball explosions, Secret Service agents ushering the president to a secret underground military base in Nebraska to plan the next move. A news report revealed that the terrorists had planned to strike Air Force One. At any moment, it seemed a squadron of alien warships would materialize and begin to menace Jeff Goldblum.
