Senate Roll Call for Base Closing - - - - - By The Associated Press

The 53-47 roll call by which the Senate on Tuesday refused to remove a base-closing provision from the $343 billion defense authorization bill.

On this vote, a ``yes'' was to kill the amendment and a ``no'' was to keep the amendment alive.

Voting ``yes'' were 31 Democrats, 21 Republicans and one independent.

Voting ``no'' were 19 Democrats and 28 Republicans.

I find it interesting that in one state, two people, representing the same constituents vote opposite, and they are from the same party. One more reason for term limits.

When it comes to military base pork, it seems that the GOP are more prone to be porkers than the Dems. For shame, particularly when this nation needs all the military muscle that it can garner as opposed to flab.

Interesting. 21 Republicans vote FOR this insanity,yet we have people like Boxer,Feinstein,Bubbette!,and Edwards agreeing with Jesse Helms and voting against it. Voting to the left of Boxer and Bubbette! must really be something a Republican would want to brag about.
