I haven't been able to find this in print yet so please forgive me. I heard this on the noon news broadcast from KFBK. Those interested may find it on sacbee.com tomorrow
A Del Paso Heights district ELEMENTARY school teacher is under suspension today for burning the United States Flag in his 4th (?) grade classroom and telling his students that (and I am paraphrasing here) '
Babylon got what it had coming to them' and that the 'U.S. got what it deserved.'
He implored the students to keep silent about the incident. One boy stepped forward and was placed in a different school to avoid retaliation from the rest of the students.
The local fire dept. and other agencies are looking into criminal filings for his stupid actions. The district manager said (again paraphrasing) that he was looking into 'if the flag burning was in the teacher's curriculum and if there are free speech issues here.'

I heard he was a black muslim teacher -- a really militant guy. Heard he burned the US flag, saying "Babylon is falling -- it got what was coming to it."
Except for the black muslim part, he could have been one of some of those "US-is-Babylon-in-Revelation" freepers....

The district manager said (again paraphrasing) that he was looking into 'if the flag burning was in the teacher's curriculum... You mean it's enirely possible that flag burning is part of the curriculum in Del Paso Heights?

If he lives in "Babylon", wouldn't that make him a Babylonian, as well? What an idiot. I'll bet that he feels like a real man by standing up to those big kids of Babylon.

Yet another unconfirmed urban legend. Smarten up people, there is a lot of bullshit flying around now.

"He implored the students to keep silent about the incident. One boy stepped forward and was placed in a different school to avoid retaliation from the rest of the students."Just the fact that he wanted kids to keep quiet about something in the classroom is alarming enough. If my grandkids ever have a teacher tell them to hide something, (let alone an act of such hate for our country) I will yank them out of the class and home school them myself!

This has already been confirmed by more than one source.
Muslims have all this "joy" inside of them that if they don't let it out they will just burst. They are so happy that the WTC towers came down that they just got to celebrate.

Sounds like an UrbanLegend in the making.

Carmichael is the garden spot, dude... Yes, that too, but I live in Suisun, because I don't want to run my air conditioner all day in the summer time. I prefer the delta breeze off the bay.

Really? What are these multiple sources that have confirmed it? Where can I find confirmation other than rumors flying around some radio talk show?

Of course he did. Haven't you realized that a certain population on FR will believe ANYTHING as long as it plays into their worldview? Seriously, just about any nonsense you could possibly post on here will be taken seriously, dissected and augmented within minutes.

Heard he burned the US flag, saying "Babylon is falling -- it got what was coming to it."But wait a minute -- Babylon is in Iraq! I wonder if this idiot knew what he's saying -- he supports the destruction of an Iraqi city.

Please, for the love of God, don't tell me you actually believed what I wrote. Click on my screen name. Then tell me it is not reasonable to think government teachers capable of anything.

ROTFLMAO!!! I went back and read your #23. No more the 2.5 minutes after you posted it, you had hooked a live one.
You do need to go into business. Do you need a taste tester for your whiskey?

It may be that this "teacher" is planning to sue the school district for violation of his "civil liberties" to burn the flag. After all, Congress had repeatedly blocked a constitutional amendment to protect the American flag from desecration. And this individual may see himself as a John Thomas Scopes of flag burning. He could be planning to change careers and would like a pile of cash to make his transition. And with CA juries being so liberal, this man may walk all the way to the bank in a fit of laughter and ridicule for the hapless taxpayers he will have so shrewdly fleeced.

Really? Just government teachers? Private school teachers never molest their students or commit crimes?
I certainly believe that such a thing could happen (teacher burns a flag). I also believe that a lot of rumors are flying around with the specific intention of causing hatred toward American Muslims and people from the Middle East, if not just people who LOOK Middle Eastern
