I thought they don't open the open deck until 9:30 am anyway. Is that supposed to be the Empire State or WTC? Plus, very doubftful anything would remain in the debris, and note the hat.The temp in NYC was 75 at the time, that photo, and light look mid winter to me.
if you want to read something chilling, there is a thread on my page I bookmarked about the WTC and there is an eyewitnes account from right on the scene from a girl who lives 3 blocks south of the WTC, and saw the second plane directly plow into the south tower. Its gripping reading. And the escape from the hell that ensued was terrifying.

I just read an article about two Christian ex-Iraqi business guys who came and talked to a local high school. I guess they were on the 82nd floor when the plane hit. They apparently went to the stairs, took almost an hour to go down and were literally running out the door as it started to collapse.
They said they wandered in shock for half a day, not knowing what to do.
University of Michigan basketball coach's sister worked on the 102nd, came in late and was in the lobby getting ready to go up the elevator when the plane hit the building.
Scary stuff.
