As you will see from today's column, we need your help if we are to stop ABC from canceling "Politically Incorrect." Sorry, Arianna, I love ya, but there are more important causes to support than saving Bill Maher's anti-conservative butt. Your arguments don't hold water...every sponsor that pulled out, every viewer or citizen that called or wrote ABC in disgust is expressing a point of view--a constitutional right of free speech. Maher's loose lips may have finally cancelled his already ignored show. Good.

To call this "lady" a conservative is like calling a pig a butterfly.

we'll huff......and we'll puff.......and we'll BLOW bill maher's house down. take a hike ya dingbat!!

Conservative Huffington Defends Bill Maher As does Sean Hannity.
If you don't like what he says, don't watch him.
The truth is, it's empty headed, nitwit (so called) "conservatives" that watch the mindless show, that keep him on the air in the first place.

Bill Maher, the quintessential America-hater and free-loader; Arianna Huffing-n-puffington, the pathetic has-been whose penchant for engaging her mouth before her pea-sized brain is legendary: They deserve each other.
Now, may they both live in the obscurity they've richly earned.

Isn't this woman a close personal friend of the guy, and a frequent guest on his show? At least she showed up a lot during the Comedy Central days of the show...

For a time Huffington pretended to be a conservative. Over the past several months/years her true stripes have come thru loud and clear.

Bill Maher's a pruck, but he said nothing that wasn't in some way true. Clinton's cruise-missile unwar BS was cowardly.

I said this the other day, it was wrong when the gays tried to do this to Dr Laura, and it's wrong for us to do this now. How many here thought Dr Laura was wrongfully attacked? Is it alright for us to do it, because they did it? If it was wrong then isn't it wrong now? I flip by Maher's show, watch a couple of minutes, find his comments asinine, and his celebrity guests ignorant - I then keep flipping. For the most part he's harmless, he's such an unpleasent character, that I doubt anyone really is persuaded by his ramblings. As far as I'm concerned, changing the channel is the best way to shut him up.

I see nothing wrong with citizens expressing their disgust with Maher. No one is asking for the government to interfere. It is ABC that must decide whether to keep him on.
To turn this around, why are you so upset at citizens wanting to voice their opinion? Just like people can switch the channel to avoid Maher, anyone is free to not pay attention to those against Maher.
If it's truly free speech, it's free for anyone to voice their opinion for or against anyone they wish, including Maher.

Arianna Huffington has gone quite, merrily, mad. I saw her nearly jumping up and down in excitement to what Maher was saying. She is as much a traitorous pig as Maher is.
Now I know why her husband went gay. Better to be a pervert then to have to bed that crazy, freakish traitor.

Isn't the theory behind freedom of speech is that it's there to encourage the free-market place of ideas. Attacking a person is not equivelent to stating one's opinion on an issue. I don't discount anyone's right to think someone is a jerk ( or worse) and express that opinion , but is spending one's time trying to shut someone up freedom of speech?
To: Hannibal Heyes
It's disgusting, that is if you cared about consistancy. But of course you don't. I don't know why you're in such a huff with me. I could not care less about protecting Dr. Laura, or anyone else who makes their opinions known. They are all big boys and girls, and should be open to criticism. That's the price they pay for having a forum to shape others' opinions. So, if anyone wants to voice their opinion about her (as you seem focused to do), so be it.
Now, what's your problem?

Bill Maher's a pruck, but he said nothing that wasn't in some way true. Clinton's cruise-missile unwar BS was cowardly. He implied -- rather clearly -- that it was the OPERATIVES of the missions he was speaking of. Either he would be comparing the operatives (e.g., the US Armed Forces personnel vs. the terrorist pilots), or he would be comparing the leaders (Bill Clinton vs. Osama Bin Ladin).
His claim that he was comparing Bill Clinton vs. the terrorists is comparing apples vs. road apples. It was clearly a backpeddle, and has rightly been seen as one. That is why Maher is losing advertisers. Most people sense the disparity and are repulsed, without understanding why, but I have detailed the reason.

Maher has a right to free speech, but he has no special right to a TV show on a major network (just like you or I have no such luxury). If the network kicks him off, it's his problem, not mine, to find another forum to spew his brand of hate.

How could anyone believe that he was attacking the operatives? Decisions like that come from the very top echlon. No one could blame the military for following orders issued by the commander in chief. It's pretty clear that Maher took issue with the person who gave the order to launch that particular attack.
