ABC TV News and Rueters News service ban reporters from wearing American Flag
TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS:
I did a search and there were no threads as far as I can see but I am new here so if I am wrong please forgive me. I am steaming after seeing a Fox News report saying that both ABC News and Rueters News Service has banned their employees from wearing the American Flag. The claim is it could put the reporters in jeapordy. I suppose under that pretense our soldiers should not wear uniforms either. I would like to see more bravery and less cowardice from these people, how pathetic! We really need a website to list all these cowardly companies and the sponsers who support them. Thanks for listening made me feel a little better. If anyone can find news wire on this please post it here. GOD BLESS AMERICA

It is only reasonable that ABC submit to Peter Jennings' gal-pal (right) ....
and to the vocal ABC staff (below)

They should give their reporters the option of wearing the flag even if it supposedly puts their lives in jeopardy.

No- what puts their reporting in jeopardy is this decision. I will not watch or read either for they ar e the enemy. A news agency operating under such strictures has no place on our shores. In fact- ABC should take the "American" out of their name.

Not only that, Reuters has banned the word "terrorist" unless it is used as part of a quote. Unbelieveable.
To: Sparky760
um, and this is a surprise. reuters has been leftist bunk forever, and abc is showing it's socialist colors merely by keeping brainiac jennings around at all.

I have listened and watched alot of this flag/journalist controversy. At the risk of raising freeper ire, (and I love freepers), I wonder if we should not remember history. Granted journalists in America have not always adhered to principle, but they cannot ever allow themselves to become an arm of the state.
Again, I say in principle, the media should be independant.....not unpatriotic, by any means, but independant. Of course, they had no problem being flacks for Clinton, but that's another story.

Reuters is British. It is peopled by the Oxbridge set that adopted Marxism in the thirties, socialism in the fifties, pacifism in the seventies, and one-worldism in the nineties.

I agree, but the use of selective 'independence' really ticks me off.

Reuters made this statement. No one is to call the people who murdered over 5,000 americans by the name of terrorist. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I kid you not...this was on FNC...Brit Hume had the entire statement on the screen.

Who is that woman with Arafat? She (?) looks remarkably like Sam Donaldson!

I can't believe how easily these people lie?

No one is to call the people who murdered over 5,000 americans by the name of terrorist. And, no one should call Reuters an unbiased news organization either.

Did you know that was Hanan Ashwari......a former lover of Peter Jennings.....the person on the right in the picture......
To: Sparky760
But are they allowed to wear a Canadian flag in honor of the country to which Jennings owes his allegience? It should be illegal for any network to use as a reader one who is not even a citizen. That's like having Koch write the sermon for St Patrick's Cathedral!

I never knew that Reuters is Brit.
I wonder what they think about the IRA?
