First, it was Sharks.
Then Terrorists.
Now tornadoes.
Natural disasters are tolerable, or at least can be dealt with easily, but not human man-made ones!

We did consulting work for insurance companies up in OK after the disastrous May 99 tornadoes. Looked like a war zone; horrific is not nearly adequate enough to describe the devastation.
Had one touch down in Mansfield, TX this year and Arlington, TX last year. Rattled my windows and scared me into the closet; thankfully, just tossed my lawn furniture. Other folks were not nearly so lucky.

Hey, who the hell died and made YOU the authority on Tornados anyway?!?! The way you talk you'd think you were from the midwest or something. No doubt your probably from Seattle. Sorry bud, but I think I'll wait until somebody from say, Oklahoma City, or somewheres near there logs on with some real-life knowledge Mr. 'EricOKC'. Jeesh....know-it-alls.

"What intensity is that? F2?"
Well it's a little more intense than a "FU!" from an ex-girlfriend. Hope that helps.

"Does this mean its headed towards NY? We need this like a hole in the head!"

No, it was the Andover tornado in 1991. I'm pretty sure it was an F5, but maybe it was an F4. I don't remember the magnatude of the '91 tornado, but I was at Beech aircraft that night and remember well that they would not let us leave because of the danger of flooding, this was while it was hitting the airforce hospital and before it hit Andover. I saw the debris from the airforce base hospital circling in the air a couple of miles away and that was the first time in my life (I am a native Kansan) that I understood the magnatude that a tornado could bring. All of that transpired before that tornado go as far east as Andover.

. If you really wanna see something - get ahold of some of the images from the 99 tornado. I saw enough of the damage from both the '91 and the '99 tornados here in Kansas thank you. I don't need any more.

I drive right by the Pentagon every day on the way to work. There were branches of trees, leaves, dirt, debris everywhere along the nearby roads.

I hope your family is well after the tornado. I heard there were a couple of students killed at U-Md. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families.
