I don't see us on track for disappearing people here. I believe Bush and Ashcroft (sp?) are honorable people and won't disappear people here. So far Bush has been very measured. Proof is ultimately in the pudding
The only connection between Bush and a national ID card so far is Drudge. That's pretty weak
If Bush does do the things you worry about, I too will be very unhappy. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I'm not as worried about Bush and Ascroft as I am with the individuals that will occupy the offices in the future.
That said, I still am uncomfortable with giving up restrictions on the Gov. It was the R's that were advocating secret search warrants and other unconstitutional expansions of gov. power...

Bush won't be President for Life - what about the presidents (a Democrat, at some point) who come after him, with the same laws on the books?
