Connie, I read your thorough, brilliant report with the greatest sadness. Since the bombings (that's what I call them), on WCBS-TV I have heard former NYPD commissioners Ray Kelly (on whose watch the 1993 WTC bombing took place, during the administration of David Dinkins) and William Bratton (Rudy Giuliani's first commish, 1994-1996?), and socialist Sen. Chuck Schumer (D, NY) all say very similar things about "the caliber" of airport security personnel, with one of them noting that some of them don't even speak English, and another observing that some even have criminal histories.
Criminal, yes, this was criminal, all right.

Great article Cal! This is not surprising to us on FR, and I am positive that more revelations will come to light in due time.
Bill and Hillary are making sure that they get plenty of camera time here in the New York area. Bill is already talking about "all that he and his administration did to combat terrorism." This article will not sit well with New Yorkers if it gets more press in NYC.
Evidently, Gore's primary job was to raise money however and wherever he could. Let's see if he comments on this if it hits the mainstream press. Perhaps he will say that he drank too much tea and was in the men's room when the airlines sent in the donation checks?
