Palestinians recreate Sbarro bombing
By Mohammed Daraghmeh, The Associated Press
NABLUS, West Bank - Opening an exhibition today marking a year of violence, a Palestinian re-enacted a bloody suicide bombing in Jerusalem.
Wearing a military uniform and a black mask, he entered a doorway under a replica of the Sbarro pizza restaurant in Jerusalem, and set off a fake explosion.
Visitors crowded through the doorway to see a recreation of the August 9th suicide bombing, complete with body parts and pizza slices strewn all over. In the downtown Jerusalem attack, the bomber and 15 other people were killed.
In another room of the exhibition, visitors looked through dark windows to see figures dressed as suicide bombers, each with one hand on Islam's holy Koran and the other on an automatic rifle, re-enacting the grisly last testament by real suicide bombers in front of video cameras before carrying out their deadly attacks.
"Our message from this exhibition to our people is that the occupiers will suffer as long as we are under occupation," said Ala Hmedan, one of the organizers of the exhibition.
"To the Israeli people: if you leave the occupied territories, you will not suffer and you will not see blood any more," he said.
Twenty-one Palestinians have blown themselves up in the past year, killing more than 50 people and wounding hundreds, unsettling and infuriating Israelis.
The Palestinians have said their uprising, or intifada, was a struggle for statehood and an end to Israel's 34-year occupation in the West Bank and Gaza.
A shrine in one room pays tribute to three leaders of the militant Hamas killed in targeted attacks by Israel. Three open graves surrounded by candles expose three white coffins for Jamal Mansour, Jamal Salim and Salah Darwazeh, all top Hamas men in Nablus.
Near the end of the exhibition stands a large rock. Behind it is a figure wearing a black hat, black jacket and black trousers, typifying an ultra-Orthodox Jew.
A recording from inside the rock calls out: "O believer, there is a Jewish man behind me, come and kill him."
Al Najah University, a hotbed for militants, has spawned several suicide bombers since the violence began. Many students belong to or support Hamas, which opposes peace deals with Israel and has claimed responsibility for many of the suicide bomb attacks.
Palestinian support for suicide bombings against Israel has increased sharply in recent months. A July poll showed 58 percent support for the bombers, more than double the figure of four years ago, when hopes for a peace deal were strong.
Looking at the exhibits, economics student Ghadir Haddad, 19, identified fully with the displays of violence.
"This exhibition shows the reality we live in. Suicide bombings here, killings there," she said. "I'm very happy because as they kill and torture us they are also killed and tortured."

... the politicians keep telling me that 99% of Arabs/Muslims denounce violence and hatred?! I work with a non-muslem (Coptic) from Egypt. He tells me that we, the Americans, are half blind and half crazy if we believe the above sentence. He is absolutely convinced that 90% of the Egyptians (remember: moderates, our frinds and allies) were exstatic when the World Trade Center was bombed, and the rest of 10% do not know it yet.
But keep drinking this "No racial/ethnic profiling" lemonade.

Wouldn't it have been poetic justice if the Israeli's had fired a helicopter missile at the re-creation in full swing... (Chuckle) I'm inclined to believe that your screen name (Mr170IQ) is a statement of fact!

Even the Nazis attempted to hide their atrocities.
These people are not evil human beings. They are a different species. They are not human.

The most disgusting Add Shimon Peres, who is wetting his pants in anticipation of meeting his lover Arafat...and Colin Powell, the urging matchmaker.

But wait - the politicians keep telling me that 99% of Arabs/Muslims denounce violence and hatred?! I know! Should I believe them, or my own lyin' eyes?

Hey AGAviator. Come and defend your terrorist friends the "Palestinians".
We all saw how Yassir Arafat - THE father of world terrorism, spoke about how bad he felt over the greatest terror attack in the history of humanity - but we also saw how his people, the Palestinains, drunk on their "victory" in Durban, South Africa, went dancing in the streets, giving out sweets, and shooting in the air, to show how happy they were.
The Palestinains wern't alone, as the article we bring below from Egypt tells us...
On the other hand - reports in the Israeli media tell us of threats that were receievd by the foreign press agencies to destroy any and all pictures and videos taken of these celebrations. That is why you will only see pictures from East Jerusalem and Lebanon below.
GAMLA will do it's best to bring more of these picture from the other cities, Bethlehem, Nablus, Hebron, Tul Karem and more of the huge celebrations that went on there last night.

"'To the Israeli people: if you leave the occupied territories, you will not suffer and you will not see blood any more,' he said. "No doubt as sincere a promise as all the previous cease fires have been. In other words, Ham-dan is lying through his teeth."
No, he's perfectly sincere. All Israel has to do is leave "the occupied territories" and the violence will indeed stopI genuinely believe that. The problem is that the PLO defines "occupied territory" as land owned by Arabs in 1948not just 1967. (Remember, the PLO was founded in 1964, three years before Israel acquired so much as one square inch of what you normally think of when you hear the phrase "occupied territories.")
Here are some "settlements" you might have heard of that were built on what the PLO calls "occupied territory," and that will have to be Judenfrei before Arafat and his butchers will permit the violence to end: Herzliya, Netanya, Tel Aviv...

Your Copt friend was right. The figures you cited are in fact exactly the reverse. Overwhelming majorities of Arabs and Muslims DO support terror, violence and murder against Israelis and Americans. Yes its true there are Arabs and Muslims who do consistently oppose the three things just mentioned but unfortunately they are a small minority. So you can see what we're up against. And for religious minorities like your Copt friend it means living a precarious and subordinate existence under Islamic domination subject to the constant threat of annihilation if they dare to challenge their subordinate status vis a vis Muslims in any way. The unpleasant truth for Israelis and Americans that is hard to face is that NOT every one, not even a majority of the people in Arab/Muslim culture want peace and coexistence as Israelis and Americans understand it. No the vast majority of them want to see all of us dead and those who were lucky enough to have somehow survived were to be left to live under Islamic suffrance. And as the story of the suicide bomber exhibit has underlined if anything, just how MAINSTREAM the hatred of Jews and America and the near universal approval in Arab societies for any form of atrocity and savagery is against the former. It should be a fringe event but as you can see from the absence of Palestinian denunciations, it is not. So there you have it and while one would wish the overwhelming majority of Arabs and Muslims were consistently for peace and brotherhood because that is what Israelis and Americans WANT for themselves, the truth is empirical reality has demonstrated exactly the opposite prevails in their societies. And until that is understood the likelihood of an accomodation with the Arab/Muslim world is exceedingly remote.
