Good report. It really burns me that now we, the taxpayers are going to have to bail out the airlines--especially in light of the fact that they have been so poorly run and managed for so long. As far as I am concerned, an industry that donated a million dollars to Clinton/Gore doesn't deserve a dime from me.
Hiya, basil! I've got mixed feelings on this airline bailout thingy. Out of sheer necessity, we need a fully functioning means of air travel in this country.
I would have placed restrictions on the funding to limit that funding to operations only (which, of course, would include paying pilots, flight attendants and security). NO corporate staff should be eligible for payment out of that funding. NONE.
That is the way I feel. What can we do about it?
