While on the one hand, I find sealed warrants disturbing, on the other,
I'm glad--this time--that the FBI acted on this.

As an Okie (temporarily in Los Angeles) with beloved relatives in DFW area...I feel
the same way.

Does anyone have anymore information about the overnight closure of the Computer Science
Department (or maybe Building?) at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)
that got lots of coverage with a thread late last week?
(cover story was authorities were investigating a bomb threat...)

I was amazed on that thread that at least one of the bombers/conspirators of the
WTC bombing in 1993 had been around UTA/local mosque at UTA prior to the bombing.
I couldn't remember hearing A WORD about this in the press! Thank heavens for www.freerepublic.com!

I've got a nephew on the UTA police force.

He's been working 12 hour shifts since 9/11 and said UTA's gotten 12 bomb threats, and they're taking all of them seriously.

He said that they've discovered that Osama bin Laden himself was on the UTA campus briefly in the '70s.

They are working with the FBI to investigate the presence of a supposed cell among an Islamist student group on campus.

My nephew's one of the newbies on the force, so he has to take care of a lot of the routine police duties (break-ins, fights, etc.) But he's worked some of the bomb threats too.

He's also investigated threats against Muslim students, which have increased by the day.

I talked to him today and he sounded exhausted.
