To: Chuck N, What did Julia Roberts mean when she said, "God is great" on T.V.?
Did anyone notice at the end of that musical tribute on T.V. that when Julia Roberts spoke, she included the phrase, "God is great." I know it is an Islamic saying (and see the article link above.)
I was just wondering if it is a Christian saying? (If so, is it heavily used?)
It seemed to me as though she were trying to send a message to the Muslims.

She was saying "please don't issue a Fatwa on me, I still have a few more million to make."

Roberts first said" may peace be with you" followed by "God is great". Both are familiar sayings," Shalom Alaikam, Allah Akhbar". Juliegirl just translated them into English. Maybe she intends to convert to Islam. If she does, we wouldn't have to hear from her anymore.
