At once she shows us both her tremendous prescience, and the weakness of her own personal faith. Some live in constant fear, but in terms of size, the attack has had less effect on life and property than some of the earthquakes in Armenia, Turkey, or India. - We as Americans have always expected to remain untouched - It reminded me of a verse in Revelation:
Rev 18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
I had always thought that it referred to London, but could it be...?
The question about the passage from Revelation creates pause for thought indeed!
We tend to think ourselves invincible, but the shadow of evil knows no boundaries, and all are vulnerable to attack, trials and testing.
It is time to define our own selves - and act accordingly.
I long ago cast my lot to be His, unafraid under the covering of his strength and grace and mercy.
The worst scenario is to lose this present life, and go to an Eternal One with God...win, win...
