According to the succession list, Daschle is nowhere near the top....would he have had the same level of protection as Gephardt and would he have had the same amount of briefing?

I do not know what type of a speech giver he is, but if what I saw Thursday evening is any indicator, how was he ever elected. Can he not take the time to memorize?

Also, what exactly is the connection between his wife and the FAA? She is a lobbyist? For the airline industry? Could chickens come home to roost on her doorstep if lax security takes the front seat when the responsibility portion is handed out?

Probably,but probably not on the 11th of Sept. I'm sure all the security services were concerned about at that time was protecting their "principals",and getting them the hell out of DC or in bomb bunker like Cheney was placed in. He's probably been fully briefed by now,though. Notice how some of the Dims criticised Bush as being a coward the first day,but have shut the hell up since then? No doubt Gephardt and Daschle have gotten to them and ordered them to shut up.

Small state,the important people there are all Dims,and he gives them all the gooberment pork he can give them. As long as he does this,they don't give a damn what else he does.

I thought she actually worked for the FAA as a upper-level bureaucrat? Could easily be wrong,though.
