Indoctrinating the youth

Ok, I'm sitting here in my dorm with my roommate who is watching the Cartoon Channel. I glance up to watch it for a minute. I didn't catch the name of the cartoon but basically this group of various looking characters goes back in time to the American Revolution. George Washington is having trouble finding his troops so the group tells GW that they will find them and bring them back.
They go up to this hippie looking woman whom all the troops are with. They tell her they need the troops to go defeat the British. She asks them why, and they answer for democracy. She then -more or less- says that democracy is just a cover for greedy capitalist and that it (democracy and capitalism) is all just a farce and that calling capitalism/democracy freedom is just a lie. Then the leader of the group asking her for the troops for George Washington, is like, "you know, she has a point."
With things like this, it's no surprise that every generation keeps becoming more and more anti-capitalism and anti-freedoms.

I hope this is an isolated incedent, I do not watch enough cartoons (or TV in general) to know. I do know just coming out of HS that a great many teacher's are very much against capitalism and are pretty blunt about it in their teachings. I think it's quite sad. I hope more youth see through the propaganda

Ok, I'm sitting here in my dorm with my roommate who is watching the Cartoon Channel. HMMMMMM, I wonder why 2 college students would be watching cartoons? hmmm. BTW Ole Fred Durst is singing some PINK FLOYD on the telethon right now. That would be trippy.

I hope more youth see through the propagandaAs do I, fervently. However, there is hope, and you are it. You have seen through the propoganda, and you are letting others know that it exists.
Unfortunately, I feel that you are outnumbered greatly. You are outnumbered by those that don't even bother to look in the first place. Do not let that fact sway you. That you look is the hope, and you must keep looking.
We must look before we can see.

I tell you, I about freaked out when I heard the intro guitar, I was gonna do a back flip if it was Gilmore himself. You took the very words out of my mouth. I have the telethon on in the background, not paying much attention to it but my wife is. Most of it has gone in one ear and out the other, but when the "Wish you were here" intro came wafting over, I damn near got whiplash spinning my chair around. Fred and company should be arrested for the murder of a good Floyd song, IMHO.

what cartoon is this? Was your roommate eating cheetos and drinking grape juice?
To: rb22982
If it is not Mr. Peabody and Sherman, you should probably not pay too much attention!
Also Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumlee have proved to be problematic!!

hmm, I don't know. Europe is basically socialist--there is a roughly 70% tax rate. Russia is heading in the right direction as I believe China is (but slowly). We are a mixed economy here in the US.
I myself have run into many self-proclaimed 'democratic-socialists' on campus. Bush' prescription drug program is a socialistic idea.

I dunno what it was called--they didn't have the name posted at the end of it or anything and missed the beginning, I had never seen it before and don't keep up with cartoons or tv much to know who all these char are. It was on from 9-9:30 on the Cartoon Network if you care to look it up. My roommate just likes cartoons, I dunno why. He is 19, makes decent grades but his fav tv stuff is cartoons. More power to him I guess lol.

my roommate is on the phone trying to convince his mom that we're not going to be attacked. I like cartoons, but I change the channel as soon as I hear leftist rhetoric. You never saw the "superfriends" talking about capitalism being evil, do you?
To: rb22982
my roomie likes cartoonsHMMM, I bet they like the ones that have more colors and cool music right?
To: Hoosier Patriot
That wasn't sarcasm. Dave Mathews rocks! I will agree with you on Bon Jovi though.
To: rb22982
Sounds like a show I saw a commercial for called Time Squad, I think. I've seen a commercial for that show that had Abe Lincoln in it.
That truly is propoganda and very sad.

Even Zan and Janna knew the evils of communism.
