Ah, there's the rub...does no one here comprehend the long term ramifications of this appointment??? Ridge was not made VP in 2000 because the Republican party was not yet ready for a pro-abort candidate. Maybe by 2004 the Republican voters WILL be ready, especially if Cheney's heart gives out and Ridge becomes Bush's VP sooner.
Never have I been so utterly disillusioned and disappointed by the rank and file Freepers here tonight. Your inability to see current anf future trends and perceive serious dangers within the "conservative" party is heartbreaking.
You've been warned.
I'm willing to be villified and flamed to get hard heads to comprehend the enormous implications of this appointment. How many of you are ready to stop your knee jerk condemnations and seriously examine the ramifications of this?
--Dr. Kopp
No, because they are figments of your imagination. The "ramifications" of this appointment are that we will have a highly skilled person heading up an important position dealing with the very real dangers that face this nation.
I am strongly pro-life, but your reasoning defies every rule of logic.
Yep.
I knew the condescension would come next.
We're dumb, you're smart.
You've never been in sales, have you?
Why should anyone believe your arch hyperbole ? You know NOTHING ! All you have are your own hysterical ravings.

I got so sick of this line of trying to undercut Bush by claiming he was going to go with a pro-abortion VP candidate during the year leading up to the election that I get nauseous at the idea of having to deal with this prattle again.
Bush considers himself pro-life, he chose a pro-life VP this time, and if he has to choose another, we have no reason to doubt he would choose another pro-lifer.
