I don't oppose it in the case of rape, incest, life of the mother, or other early term cases where the decision should be left to the parents as regards birth defects. I also support embryonic stem cell research.
On the other hand, I oppose it past the first trimester, but have problems with some of the laws pro-life forces wish to pass. I respect those whose opinions are more stringent than mine, except the extremist wing mentioned in my first post in this thread.
No, I'm not looking to turn this into an abortion debate. Suffice it to say I generally support the pro-life position, but those who are so fanatical about it as to exploit national tragedies or damn a man heading up this new federal agency because of his positions turn me away from giving it much support.
