I agree with McGowan that keeping this "issue" going is a waste of time, a distraction from productive support from the valid war effort and relief of the families of the victims.

I don't. For one it doesn't take much time to exercise free speech and write to the sponsors. Another is that he was praising the killers of the victims for their bravery, like it was some kind of heroic act they did when they killed innocent people for no reason at all.

Forget contacting the Advertisers. You should be targeting the Media Buying agencies such as Starcom World Wide, OmniCom & Rubicon and DDB Needham among others.

GM, McDonalds, etc.. don't "pick" the shows they advertise on, their media buying agencies do.

I see your strategy, but Mervyn's cancelled their ads in addition to others.

What power do we have over the agencies ?

The power we have is with the local stations and the advertisers, Though contacting the agencies couldn't hurt.

Thanks, excellent work. When I look at that updated list and compare it to the sponsors that I USED TO SEE on the weasel's show, it gives me a warm feeling inside. Haha!

Concrete evidence of what can happen when we put our Freepin' minds to it. They can't be paying the bills now; if ABC has to subsidize this very long it will be over soon. Another strong push could finish him off. Let's keep up the good work!

Remember, Taco Bell dropped Dana Carvey like a hot potato after just one episode when they received numerous calls and letters of anger and disappointment about his obnoxious show. Their name was even in the show title, "The Taco Bell Dana Carvey Show", I believe they called it. So, it is doable to freep them and knock off another national sponsor.

Here is what I wrote to Taco Bell:

"I am very diasappointed that Taco Bell has sponsored Bill Maher and Politically Incorrect. MILLIONS of Americans who serve, and have served their country bravely, were recently slandered by his thoughtless words.

I know that Taco Bell surely cannot agree with his statements; I remember when Taco Bell dropped Dana Carvey's show after just one episode due to Mr. Carvey's excessiveness and poor taste. I am sure that upon review of Mr. Maher's statements and other behavior you will see that his actions FAR exceed anything Mr. Carvey ever did.

Please see your way to do the right thing in this circumstance as well; you DO have precedent. Please drop your sponsorship of Politically Incorrect.

As a person of principles, I cannot allow myself to give Taco Bell my family's future business, should you continue your sponsorship. I am but one of millions of your patriotic customers who will make this commitment.
