hillary looked as though she couldn't care less that the USA is going to war and that out troops will face great peril. All she cares about, and has ever cared about, is her own rise to power. She sees that fading into dust before her eyes, and because of this the hatred she truly feels for this country came through tonight, crystal clear.

Hitlery has been out of her element since the first plane hit the tower. She ascended to the Senate on a script written by those who kowtow to her and hold her up in the best possible light. She learned their lines, and knows nothing else. Even on the morning show last week, Katie Couric fed her a no-brainer line like, "What words of condolence can you offer ythe people of NY?"Hitlery hemmed and hawed, blinked in apparent surprise, and responded with that flat emotionless voice that she'd make sure they got money from D.C.

She's really in over her head. She has nothing whatsoever to offer anyone and has no role to play. She can't summon up human kindness to grieve or assist those grieving, she can't make a stirring speech about supporting the President's plan because he's her political enemy. Every program she supports will of necessity take a back seat to our war effort.

I think when Ridge stood up, Hitlery saw the face of future polical opposition after the Bush term(s), and realized she was nothing but a senator who might keep her seat but would never rise to prominence. Nothing ahead but long years of long hours at the office with little or no recognition. And probably greatly reduced donations to her warchest. Let's hope!
