I can't beleive that I just stood up, alone, and clapped. It was a very inspiring speech. Bush's best. A rival to the Gipper. Well written, well delivered, and very very inspiring.

I cannot comment on all the strong emotions that he invoked in me. I am awe-striken.

Agreed. This needs to be watched, and strictly limited to co-ordinating between existing agencies in cases where there is evidence pointing to foreign-orchestrated crimes or attacks on American territory.

It shouldn't really be a Cabinet-level department, but that's probably a necessary bit of political symbolism in these times. Another reason why decisions like this should have a 20-year or thereabouts "sunset" provision.

I was very pleased with what I heard tonight. Especially what the Taliban has to do to avoid destruction. Very stern warning, and if Bush follows through, which I have no doubt about now, he will be going about this exactly the way I think it should be done. No quarter given to anyone who harbors terrorists.

Kind of strange that he mentioned many countries but not Canada. It was a good speech all in all. What is it that makes him ignore Canada?
