I'm too old, and my wife wouldn't let me take the cut in pay :^).
But as soon as they have a CCW-AIR certification for us non-LEO peons, I'll be first in line to get one.

Give this a bump to anyone you know who might be interested.
If they have a family life, it could be a problem, since the job will entail unpredictable deployments all over the world on short notice for long periods of time.
They need to be under 37 years old, and eligible for a Top Secret security clearance. They can be older with former FLEO experience.
The job pays $35-80,000 depending on many factors.

You under 37? Better just window shop partner.

Our government continues to be stupid. 37 years of age???
I am 64, resaonably healty, could kill most 37 year olds with my bare hands, retired , expert marksman, doctors degree, know where all the vital body spots are, have the guts to use the knowledge, will work for 1/4 of what they'll have to pay, and enjoy the vacation. To look at me you'd never suspect, I look helpless.
How many more out there like me?
Guys like me are perfect for this duty.

In publicly establishing the age limitation, didn't the FAA just make the job of a terrorist that much easier? They just eliminated the vast majority of male air travelers who would have been otherwise suspected of being a 'marshal' just because they were on the plane.
It would have been better if age was a classified matter.

Well, well, well. Too bad the max age is 37. I didn't think that our remarks about being "old farts" on that other thread would be taken so seriously! $;-)

Rats! I'm 45 . . .
Could have used the job too.

Typical Bureaucratic mentality.
Under age 37. That ought to make it really easy for terrorists to eliminate half or more of the passengers on any airplane as potential obstacles.
Smart. Really smart.
Who comes up with this &%&@(* ?

"While deployed, they have limited personal contact with family and limited time off."I found out today that a soccer Dad acquaintance who I thought was a cop is actually an ATF agent. (Yikes!) Next week he will begin Air Marshal duty. He will leave his family for 60 days. He gets to come home for two weeks then leaves for 60 days again. He and his wife, a school teacher, have four small children.
I pray for all military, rescue and law enforcement families as they cope with hardships and separations.
