The account has the portions in there about the Lord's prayer (23 Psalms) and about having the supervisor call his wife. The only portion missing (and it was based on an earlier report from a local news source) was that the lady he was talking to was a GTE Phone supervisor and not his own. I will fix that and also add some extra verbage I just picked up off an ABC news report regarding the same.
Thanks for ths input.
Lord...one of the pictures of the people falling...probably a woman with a dark shirt and light pants...on the New York Times website, there is a picture of this same person standing in a broken window...and the caption says that it was taken just before the building collapsed. It's a picture of this person just before they jumped. This is HORRIFIC. Someone recognizes their loved one in these pictures. NEVER forget the monsters who displayed this inhumanity. NEVER forget. God Bless the victims and families..God Bless America.
Thanks for the reply, and your patriotism. It's mildly irksome to read reprints of Psalm 23 in some of the FR accounts when the actual prayer was our Lord's own words. Beamer's wife repeated the words "
as we forgive those who trespass against us..." noting that it was in her husband's nature to forgive his enemies, even as it became necessary to kill them. In my wildest dreams, I cannot imagine such saintliness in myself.
It speaks volumes of their relationship that Lisa Beamer was at such peace with her husband's memory that she never once lamented not being the last person to speak with him.
