Tampa Channel 8 to Not Allow On-Screen Personalities to Wear Red, White, Blue Ribbons
MJ Morning Show, Tampa, FL

My wife just informed me that MJ Kelly, of the MJ Morning Show, broadcast in Tampa and St. Louis, just stated that Tampa's television Channel 8 (an NBC affiliate) has forbidden their on-air tv personalities to wear red, white, and blue ribbons, because they're (the station) going to question Bush's actions.
Has anyone else heard this?

"Very" is an understatement.

Thank you all very much for verifying this information and providing all your support. I, for one, will be watching News Channel 8 tonight for one purpose. I will identify every sponsor and post their names. Sorry I could not acknowledge and keep things up, but I'm at work and have very little access to the internet.
Thank you all very much for keeping this thread alive!

No problem. I was asleep when it started and now I have to replace my television, but I'm calming down now. I shall keep this thread alive all day long. O'Reilly has been emailed as well as Brit Hume.

I just phoned Publix management for one of their stores in Tampa (Their corporate headquarters is in Lakeland). I told the manager that I am considering organizing a protest group of members of military families to picket and protest all Channel 8 sponsors.
He thanked me for my comments and stated he would forward my complaint to their corporate management.
It would be great to get this off the ground.
I would love to see the community come out and support those who withdraw their sponsorship of Channel 8, or others who have this un-American attitude.

Way to go. Let's teach these PC, tree huggin' pri@#s not to suck eggs!

Thanks, I'll be looking forward to your reporting this evening.

Okay, let's get going on a concerted effort to contact WFLA News sponsors...
Anybody have a listing of who the major sponsors are other than Publix?
Also, anyone know names and contact details for Publix (and any other sponsor's) corporate executives?
Money is tight at many corporations these days...many would welcome a chance to yank expensive advertisements--especally considering the massive FREE popular public opion windfall such patriotic actions can bring.

Good thinking. I'm on the phone with them now. Poor store managers have nothing to do with this, but they will make the call to corporate.

What are posting guidelines for direct dial phone numbers? Any restrictions? Is this frowned upon?
To: tutstar
Yeah, well tough beans!
They have shown their true colors and we need to take the wood to these communist moles in the 'press'.
Let's take WFLA down as a shining example of what those who would sympathize with domestic terrorism may expect from Operation Noble Eagle.
I will not rest until the pencil-necked leftists geek who initiated this failed policy attempt is FIRED!
Does anyone really think that his anti-USA views will not creep up again and again in future broadcasts?
I sent a link to this story to Matt Drudge, and suggest others do the same.

"THEY'VE CHANGED THEIR POLICY!!!"Someone out there, could we have some independent confirmation of this. No disrespect intended, tutstar!

That is NOT true!
The source for that statement was a (rude) reply from Eric Land:
Sorry for the misunderstanding. We have had a policy against wearing of any lapel pins or decorations so that the public never misunderstood our approach. We have lifted that policy to allow our on-air people, if they so chose, to wear a small American flag.
The rest of your offensive comments will not be discussed.
Thanks for sharing your concern with us.
Eric S. Land
Bob Hite was already wearing an American lapel pin.
THEY HAVE NOT LIFTED THE BAN OF ON-AIR PERSONALITIES WEARING RED WHITE AND BLUE RIBBONS!
